About the OpportunityThe Executive Housekeeper will oversee the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department while playing a major role in preparing the hotel for opening and long-term success.
You will work closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Engineering, Front Office, and company leadership to ensure guestrooms, public areas, laundry operations, and back-of-house spaces consistently meet hotel and brand standards.
This role requires a leader who understands that housekeeping is much more than cleaning rooms.

What You'll DoLead the Housekeeping OperationOversee daily housekeeping operations for guestrooms, public areas, laundry, and housekeeping support
Plan daily staffing and room assignments based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and business needs
Monitor room readiness throughout the day
Coordinate closely with Front Desk to ensure guestrooms are available when needed
Maintain strong communication with Engineering regarding maintenance concerns
Ensure housekeeping operations remain organized, efficient, and guest-focused
Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the department
Step into the operation when needed and lead by example
A successful housekeeping department starts with strong leadership and strong people.
You will:
Recruit, onboard, train, and develop housekeeping team members
Establish clear expectations for quality, productivity, attendance, and teamwork
Train Guest Room Attendants, Inspectors, Housepersons, and Laundry Attendants
Conduct daily meetings and shift communication
Coach associates and recognize strong performance
Address performance concerns professionally and consistently
Develop supervisors and future leaders within the department
Create an environment built on respect, accountability, and teamwork

Inspect guestrooms for cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, and brand compliance
Establish and maintain inspection standards
Monitor recurring cleanliness or maintenance concerns
Ensure guestroom amenities and supplies are properly placed and replenished
Support room recovery when standards are not met
Follow up on guest concerns related to cleanliness
Monitor guest feedback and identify trends
Maintain a constant focus on improving cleanliness scores and guest satisfaction
The Executive Housekeeper will play a major role in balancing quality with operational efficiency.
Monitor housekeeping productivity and labor performance
Schedule team members according to occupancy and business demand
Review daily room assignments and workloads
Track rooms cleaned, minutes per room, and labor efficiency
Identify opportunities to improve workflow without sacrificing quality
Manage overtime and additional staffing responsibly
Partner with hotel leadership on labor planning and budgeting
Adjust staffing plans based on forecasted occupancy and hotel needs

Inventory, Linen & SuppliesMaintain proper par levels for linen, terry, guest supplies, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment
Monitor linen usage and loss
Conduct regular inventories
Maintain organized housekeeping storage and supply areas
Assist with ordering and receiving housekeeping products
Ensure chemicals are properly stored, labeled, and used
Monitor equipment condition and report repair or replacement needs
Control waste and unnecessary supply usage
Oversee daily laundry production and workflow
Ensure linen is washed, dried, processed, and stored according to standards
Monitor laundry productivity and staffing
Maintain proper linen rotation and par levels
Work with Engineering on equipment maintenance and mechanical concerns
Establish procedures designed to protect linen quality and extend product life
Ensure laundry areas remain clean, organized, and safe
Ensure compliance with Marriott, Element, company, and health and safety standards
Train associates on proper chemical handling and safety procedures
Maintain Safety Data Sheet information and departmental documentation
Ensure equipment is operated safely
Monitor workplace safety and address hazards promptly
Maintain clean and organized housekeeping offices, closets, laundry areas, and back-of-house spaces
Support preparation for brand inspections and quality assurance reviews
Housekeeping touches nearly every part of the guest experience.

What We're Looking ForHotel Housekeeping Leadership Experience Is RequiredWe are looking for someone who already understands the demands of hotel housekeeping leadership and is ready to build a department from the ground up.

Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs
Weekend and holiday availability required
Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with hotel housekeeping leadership
Previous Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, or similar leadership experience
Marriott brand experience preferred
New hotel opening experience highly desirable
Experience managing laundry operations
Experience with housekeeping productivity systems and labor reporting
Experience managing inventory, linen, and departmental expenses
Strong knowledge of brand inspections and quality assurance standards
Bilingual communication skills are a plus
