Position SummaryWSA NYC is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations across our portfolio of hospitality and multi-unit properties. Working closely with the Finance Leadership team, this individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, overseeing month-end close processes, managing reconciliations, directing operational accounting functions, and supporting budgeting and forecasting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hospitality and/or food & beverage accounting experience, deep familiarity with multi-unit operations, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-moving environment while providing steady leadership across core accounting functions. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, leadership, external vendors, and finance partners while driving accountability and consistency. CompensationSalary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations across the portfolio
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting schedules
- Direct month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities and locations
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management
- Monitor and reconcile revenue reporting from POS systems and operational platforms
- Lead accounting operations across multiple hospitality, food & beverage, wellness, and creative properties
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPI reporting in partnership with leadership
- Assist with sales tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting while ensuring timely compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls, organized financial records, and compliance with GAAP and company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within luxury hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or multi-unit food & beverage environments, with prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership capacity
- Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and operational accounting practices
- Experience leading multi-entity or multi-location accounting operations, including oversight of reconciliations, close processes, and balance sheet integrity, preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong comfort working across accounting systems, reporting tools, and operational platforms
- Experience with hospitality POS systems, accounting platforms, payroll systems, budgeting, and cash flow oversight preferred
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage priorities, drive accountability, and partner effectively with senior leadership
