Community Engagement Facilitator

(Part-Time Temporary October - May)

Help Build Courage, Confidence, and Character in Girls!

We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and community-minded individuals to serve as Facilitators for new Girl Scout troops. This role is ideal for educators, youth development professionals, college students, retirees, or anyone passionate about mentoring girls and creating meaningful experiences.

Position Summary

The Troop Facilitator leads Girl Scout meetings and activities, helping girls explore leadership, build friendships, develop new skills, and have fun. Facilitators work alongside families and volunteers to create a positive troop experience while supporting the growth and success of the troop.

Responsibilities

  • Run a Girl Scout troop from 1-4 times per month based on council needs. Lead and facilitate regular troop meetings.
  • Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all girls.
  • Guide girls in leadership development, goal setting, and decision-making.
  • Communicate with families regarding meetings, events, and troop activities.
  • Support participation in Girl Scout programs, the cookie program, events, and community service projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Girl Scout safety guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain attendance records and basic program documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth, education, recreation, or community programs preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead groups and engage participants of diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to troop meeting locations.
  • Must pass required background screening.
  • Must be at least 19 years old.

Schedule

  • Part-time, primarily after school hours, evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Meeting frequency varies by troop, typically 2–4 times per month.
  • Additional hours may be available for events and training.

Compensation

  • $50 per meeting, which includes travel, prep time, and meeting time
