Job Description
Windows Server Lead
Position SummaryNationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Windows Server Lead to direct technical work for Windows Server projects and lead the on-site management of installations. The lead independently installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems, server platforms, devices, circuits, cables, software, end-user equipment, and connectivity.
The position supports project planning, evaluates task performance and work products, coordinates technical matters with contractors and Government stakeholders, and ensures that solutions meet design concepts, user requirements, schedule commitments, and customer expectations. This is an on-site position and part of a proposal effort.Key Responsibilities

Salary range $110,000 to $153,700 annually

The position supports project planning, evaluates task performance and work products, coordinates technical matters with contractors and Government stakeholders, and ensures that solutions meet design concepts, user requirements, schedule commitments, and customer expectations. This is an on-site position and part of a proposal effort.Key Responsibilities
- Direct technical work on Windows Server projects and coordinate the daily activities of technical personnel assigned to installations, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Lead on-site management of server and infrastructure installations, including work sequencing, technical coordination, quality review, issue resolution, and operational turnover.
- Install, operate, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair Windows Server systems, applications, devices, components, circuits, cables, end-user equipment, software, and connectivity.
- Perform technical analyses and prepare accurate engineering, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, test, status, and decision-support documentation.
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings, project updates, recommendations, and presentations to contractor and Government stakeholders.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and managing project plans, schedules, milestones, technical tasks, dependencies, risks, resources, and deliverables.
- Review task performance and work products for technical correctness, completeness, adherence to design concepts, compliance with user requirements, and progress against approved schedules.
- Coordinate with the Vendor Program Manager, Task Order Project Manager, Government user representatives, and technical teams to confirm requirements, resolve issues, and ensure user satisfaction.
- Evaluate server configurations, operating-system settings, applications, interfaces, security controls, and network dependencies and recommend corrective or improvement actions.
- Support system testing, installation verification, operational validation, defect remediation, configuration control, documentation updates, and knowledge transfer.
- Identify technical, schedule, integration, security, and operational risks and recommend practical mitigation actions.
- Provide senior-level troubleshooting and technical guidance for complex Windows Server, application, device, and connectivity problems.
- Seven years of progressive information technology experience, including work on at least five projects in technical areas relevant to the applicable Statement of Work task areas.
- At least one qualifying project completed or performed within the past three years.
- Hands-on knowledge and experience across all major aspects of Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, performance, security, and recovery.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical personnel and directing installation, upgrade, maintenance, troubleshooting, or infrastructure-support activities.
- Experience reviewing technical work products for correctness, design compliance, requirements alignment, quality, and schedule performance.
- Ability to develop technical analyses, project documentation, briefings, presentations, status reports, and recommendations for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Experience coordinating technical requirements and issue resolution with program managers, task leads, Government representatives, vendors, users, and engineering teams.
- Tier 5 investigation and Secret clearance.
- DoD-approved 8570/8140 baseline certification at IAT II or IAT III.
- Applicable DLA-approved computing-environment qualifications for Server Admin M and Domain Admin Z in a cloud or Microsoft operating-system environment.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer-service, technical-writing, presentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting geographically distributed Windows Server environments and coordinating work across multiple installation sites.
- Experience developing project schedules, installation plans, implementation procedures, test plans, risk registers, and transition documentation.
- Experience with enterprise virtualization, cloud-hosted Windows workloads, Active Directory, Group Policy, automation, monitoring, backup, and disaster-recovery technologies.
- Experience supporting DLA, Department of Defense, or other regulated Federal information systems.
