RN Oncology Navigator in Morehead City, North Carolina at Carteret Health Care

Reports to the Director of Cancer Treatment Services. Works closely with MD, NP and RNs to improve the cancer treatment experience.

The Oncology Nurse Navigator is a patient educator and advocate, care coordinator, system navigator and community ambassador on a mission to improve the cancer experience for the individual affected with a diagnosis of cancer by being a support system for the patient and his/her family at a critical time - after diagnosis and through treatment and serving as a gateway to Carteret General Hospital's services. The Oncology Nurse Navigator will assist patients with all cancer types from the time of initial referral through survivorship. Optimize and improve patient, physician, organizational and community clinical quality outcomes by providing consistent and timely care coordination for the cancer program while reducing wait time and suffering from cancer and it's treatments.
