Member Solutions Assistant Manager in Pontoon Beach, Illinois at GCS CREDIT UNION

Role:

Assist in managing the department charge with preserving the Credit Union’s assets by controlling delinquent accounts, collecting delinquent payments, recovering and disposing of collateral and monitoring the work of direct reports to ensure quality performance and compliance with all state and federal regulations and Credit Union policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

45% Assist the Member Solutions Manager in the daily functions of the department such as: Bankrupcy, Legal, Repossesion, and Foreclosure accounts. As well as maintaining relationships with our attorneys, realtors, repossession companys, and other vendors.

20% Takes telephone calls from members or meets in person with members needing assistance with delinquent obligations. Contacts delinquent accounts and take appropriate measures to recover Credit Union assets.

15% Supervises work performed by the Member Solutions Department employees and work with employees to improve productivity and effectiveness.

5% Perform Financial Counseling for the member and outside agencies.

5% Identifies areas where existing Credit Union programs can be improved and ensures employees within the department are receiving appropriate training on a regular basis.

5% Performs other duties as identified from time to time.

5% Credit Reporting Updates

Bank Secrecy Act:

Remains cognizant of and adheres to the Credit Union’s policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Expectations:

1. To maintain the Credit Union’s charged-off and delinquent accounts at or below acceptable levels.

2. To ensure all collection activity is legal and following Credit Union policy, this includes work conducted directly by Credit Union employees and work conducted on behalf of the Credit Union by outside recovery agents.

3. To keep management informed of operational issues affecting the Credit Union’s collection activities.

4. To provide training development, support and leadership for all direct reports.

5. To maintain a professional appearance and atmosphere for the department.

6. Develop training sessions for Member Solutions department and actively participate in all training sessions pertinent to this position.

7. To direct and motive a highly-qualified staff sufficient to meeting the daily operational needs of the department.

8. Complete required Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor Courses

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in additional to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contact become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

This position frequently requires you to talk, hear and use your fingers.

Occasionally, this position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling and lifting up to 10 pounds.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing details on a computer terminal.
