Job Description

Description:

The Senior Training Specialist owns and operates The Arcadia Way, Arcadia Beverage's competency-based task qualification and professional development program. Working with department leads and subject matter experts, this role develops instruction, prepares qualified trainers, coordinates employee assessments, and maintains training records. Floor instruction stays central; the specialist teaches, coaches, and verifies adoption while supervisors retain daily teaching and operating leaders retain decisions. This is a design and delivery role, not solely coordination.

What We Do:

  • Arcadia is a people-first organization. We exist to care for each other through our actions and values, and to share that with everyone we encounter.
  • Arcadia Beverage has over 80 years of beverage co-packing experience and we are a pasteurized cold fill scale contract packager of non-alcoholic / non-carbonated beverages for major retailers and food service distributors.

Our Core Values:

  • Care Deeply
  • Respect & Support the Whole Person
  • Grow & Learn Everyday
  • Celebrate & Have Fun
  • Do What We Say We’re Going to Do

What You’ll Do:

Training Design and Delivery

  • Conduct needs assessments across departments, roles, and shifts using task observation, employee input, and performance data; determine whether training is the right intervention or route the issue to the responsible owner
  • Build task qualification lists, module records, onboarding checklists, and Employee Level Snapshots with SMEs, following adult learning principles and proven design models (ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent)
  • Develop job aids and quick reference guides linked to approved procedures in TrackVia; produce English and Spanish versions of all floor-facing materials
  • Deliver hands-on instruction using demonstration, practice, feedback, and observed assessment
  • Lead Phase 3 development of training videos, eLearning modules, and digital job aids as the program matures

Program Administration

  • Own and maintain Arcadia Way training folders, task qualification records, values modules, onboarding forms, and supporting materials
  • Process trainer authorization cards; maintain the certified trainer registry and department trainer boards
  • Coordinate Level Up Reviews with HR; maintain the Employee Training Tracker and record individual qualifications when demonstrated
  • Update training materials and retraining assignments when approved procedures change, in partnership with Document Control
  • Facilitate the twice-monthly training meeting with department leads and supervisors

Manager Coaching and Cross-Functional Follow-Through

  • Develop and assess supervisors, leads, and peers as trainers; verify task mastery and teaching skill before independent delivery
  • Coach supervisors in setting expectations, listening, giving fact-based feedback, and verifying corrective follow-through through case practice and observed conversations
  • Teach a fair response to errors: acknowledge good-faith reporting, contain risk, establish facts, correct skill or system gaps, and involve HR when conduct requires action
  • Rehearse handoffs for significant operating issues: accepted ownership and backup, decision deadlines, next updates, and verified closure
  • Practice shift handovers and readiness checks; reinforce live escalation for urgent risks and timely customer or supplier updates through designated owners

Stakeholder Coordination and Project Management

  • Build relationships across Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Services, HR, and other functions; serve as the primary contact for training needs
  • Agree shift-specific training schedules with managers, naming the trainer, learner, task, and covered time; escalate repeated cancellations or coverage gaps
  • Partner with Document Control on approved procedures and with Quality and Safety on food-safety, regulatory training, and area orientation
  • Collaborate with Operational Excellence on process improvement and practical digital tracking integration
  • Manage concurrent projects and department rollouts independently; keep operating decisions with their authorized owners while coaching the routines without directing every incident

Program Growth and Evaluation

  • Lead the pilot and first-year Alpha rollout across departments, starting with a small set of priority floor tasks and scaling demonstrated practice
  • Review implementation at 30, 60, and 90 days; collect feedback and adjust content, coverage, and coaching as the program matures
  • Track time to first independent task, module completion, Level Up Review status, trainer coverage, and training delivered versus planned by department and shift
  • Recommend Phase 3 technology and content improvements based on demonstrated need
  • Ensure safety, quality, and food safety by following company rules and standards, enforcing the requirements, and communicating violations or concerns to the leadership team.
Requirements:

What We’re Looking for:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or a closely related field, required
  • Master's degree in a related field, preferred

Experience

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in instructional design or learning and development
  • Demonstrated portfolio of training content built from scratch: task qualification systems, eLearning modules, instructor-led programs, job aids, or equivalent
  • Experience conducting training needs analyses and recommending appropriate learning solutions independently
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating people through influence; a formal management title or direct reports are not required
  • Experience delivering hands-on training, developing trainers, and coaching supervisors across departments

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong instructional design skills grounded in adult learning theory and proven design models (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy, or equivalent)
  • Analytical skills to evaluate a performance problem, identify root cause, and determine whether training is the right intervention
  • Excellent written and oral communication, active listening, and facilitation skills; able to write clearly for a manufacturing floor audience and present to leadership
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple deliverables, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, preferred
  • Ability to work directly on the production floor and plan training across relevant operating shifts, including scheduled off-shift sessions

Industry Context

  • Background in food and beverage, manufacturing, or a regulated environment, preferred; can be developed in role
  • Familiarity with GMP, food safety, or OSHA training requirements, helpful

The Perks:

  • Generous PTO & Holidays
  • 401(K) plan available with employer match
  • Comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance
  • Company-funded Direct Primary Care
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • Professional development opportunities

The Interview Process:

  • Initial phone screen with our human resources department
  • Second phone screen with the Hiring Manager
  • On site interview to tour the facility and meet the team
  • Offer
