Patrol Officer Response Course Instructor in Meridian, Mississippi at Ladgov Corporation

Schedule:

Part-time/on-call instructional position supporting the Patrol Officer Response Course at RCTA, 219 Fuller Road, Meridian, MS 39309, and Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
Each course is conducted onsite for a minimum of 4 days / 32 instructional hours, with up to 40 students per class and up to 6 course sessions per year. Remote instruction is not authorized.

Summary:

The Patrol Officer Response Course Instructor will provide specialized training to law-enforcement personnel on drug recognition, patrol response, officer safety, and legal considerations related to drug encounters.

The position includes classroom instruction, practical exercises, scenario-based learning, knowledge checks, and pre- and post-course testing.

Requirements:

• Must have relevant professional expertise in law enforcement, drug enforcement, drug recognition, patrol operations, or closely related areas.

• Must be able to effectively instruct adult law-enforcement personnel and clearly explain technical subject matter.

• Must be capable of leading interactive and scenario-based practical exercises, not lecture-only training.

• Must provide a resume and supporting documentation demonstrating relevant instructional and subject-matter experience.

Duties:

• Deliver the complete 4-day / 32-hour Patrol Officer Response Course at the assigned training location.

• Provide instruction on major drug categories, drug recognition indicators, paraphernalia, packaging, methods of use, and physiological effects.

• Teach the Drug Abuse Recognition process and conduct realistic patrol-response exercises.

• Provide instruction on officer safety, clandestine laboratory awareness, Drug Endangered Children, and drug-related encounters.

• Cover applicable legal subjects including search and seizure, vehicle stops, detention and arrest, consent searches, probable cause, informants, and testimony considerations.

• Administer pre-tests, post-tests, and ongoing checks for understanding, and maintain current training materials addressing emerging drug trends.
