About the RoleAs an On-Call Banquet Services team member at Shanty Creek Resort, you will help create memorable experiences for guests attending weddings, conferences, meetings, banquets, and special events throughout the resort.
This is an on-call position with hours based on scheduled events and business needs. There is no guaranteed number of hours or regular weekly schedule. Team members may be offered shifts based on event volume and availability, making this a great opportunity for individuals looking for flexible or supplemental work.
Banquet Services team members assist with event setup, food and beverage service, guest needs, and event breakdown. Success in this role requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to provide professional service in a fast-paced event environment.
Minimum QualificationsStrong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to follow event instructions, timelines, and service standards.
Ability to work varying shifts based on event needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods.
Dependable and able to report for accepted shifts on time and prepared to work.
Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, hospitality, or customer service experience.
Experience serving food and beverages.
Knowledge of banquet or event service standards.
Food safety or responsible alcohol service certification.
Assist with the setup of banquet rooms, conference spaces, and event areas according to event requirements.
Set tables, chairs, linens, place settings, glassware, and other event materials as directed.
Greet guests and provide friendly, professional service throughout events.
Serve food and beverages according to established banquet service standards.
Assist with buffet, plated, reception, and other styles of food and beverage service.
Monitor assigned tables or event areas and respond promptly to guest needs.
Clear dishes, glassware, and other items throughout and following events.
Maintain clean, organized, and professional banquet and service areas.
Communicate guest requests and service concerns to banquet leadership.
Work closely with banquet, culinary, conference services, and other resort employees to support successful events.
Assist with event breakdown, cleanup, and resetting spaces for upcoming functions.
Follow food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and workplace safety requirements.
Handle banquet equipment, dishes, glassware, and supplies carefully and appropriately.
Complete assigned opening, closing, and event-specific duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This is an on-call position. Work is offered based on scheduled banquets, weddings, conferences, meetings, and other resort events. Hours will vary from week to week and are not guaranteed. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on event needs.
