Description:

Summary: Orangewood Christian School is seeking a full-time Upper School Supervision & Aftercare Assistant to provide student supervision and support for grades 7–12 throughout the school day and during after-school care. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered environment by building positive relationships with students, reinforcing school expectations, and serving as a Christian role model within the OCS community.

The Upper School Supervision & Aftercare Assistant will supervise students during lunch, WIN (What I Need) time, dismissal, and aftercare, while also assisting the Upper School administrative team with clerical and operational tasks as needed. This position requires someone who demonstrates maturity, strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a heart for ministry through serving students and families.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with an anticipated schedule of Monday through Friday, approximately 9:45 AM–5:45 PM.

This position may also be filled as two separate part-time positions:

· Upper School Lunch Supervision Assistant: Monday–Friday, approximately 10:00 AM–1:15 PM

· Upper School Aftercare Assistant: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:45 PM–5:45 PM

The Upper School Supervision & Aftercare Assistant is a position requiring a calling to use God-given talents to further the Kingdom of God. The Upper School Supervision & Aftercare Assistant is expected to be a minister to the OCS community through actions, speech, attitude, and prayer, as they point students to Christ.

Essential Function:

Student Supervision & Support:

· Supervise Upper School students (grades 7–12) during lunch periods, WIN time, dismissal, and aftercare.

· Maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for students at all times.

· Monitor student behavior and ensure compliance with school expectations, policies, and procedures.

· Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

· Address minor student concerns using appropriate, age-appropriate correction and redirection.

· Document and report behavioral concerns, safety issues, or other student-related concerns to the Upper School Assistant Principal.

· Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and behavioral matters.

· Ensure students appropriately care for shared spaces by cleaning up after themselves and leaving areas neat and orderly.

· Assist students with homework completion and provide encouragement and support during aftercare as needed.

· Maintain accurate attendance records for aftercare, including student arrival and departure times.

· Independently manage assigned supervision responsibilities while exercising good judgment and awareness of student needs.

Administrative & Clerical Support:

· Assist the Upper School administrative team with clerical and operational tasks as needed during non-supervision periods.

· Support teachers and administrators with tasks such as preparing copies, organizing materials, filing, data entry, and other administrative duties.

· Assist with special events, including preparation, setup, and decorating as needed.

· Support a variety of school operations tasks that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Upper School.

Supplemental Functions:

· Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development.

· Maintain CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain certification within an established timeframe).

· Follow all school policies and procedures related to student safety, supervision, and communication.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Preferred Education Requirement: High School Degree

Certification(s) Preferred: Holds or is in the process of earning a Florida Educator Certificate.
