Job Description

Location: Boston, MA
Position Type: Full time

Suffolk University Law School in Boston invites applications for two full-time positions as Assistant Professor of Academic Support beginning in the 2027–2028 academic year.

The Academic Support Program (ASP) at Suffolk is an integral part of the Law School faculty and is led by professors who have received national recognition for their work in academic support and legal education. ASP professors collaborate closely with the academic deans, the Dean of Students Office, and faculty colleagues to promote student learning throughout law school and on the bar exam.

ASP faculty appointments are not tenure track, but ASP professors have a path to long-term, presumptively renewable contracts and receive the same research support resources available to tenure track faculty.

The responsibilities of ASP faculty at Suffolk include working individually with students throughout the year to identify areas for improvement and develop the study and analytical skills necessary for success in law school and on the bar exam. ASP professors also teach an upper-level course on legal analysis and/or bar examination skills and may have opportunities to teach additional electives related to their areas of expertise or research interests. ASP faculty teach and work with students in both the day and evening divisions, both in person and online.

Applications shoud be submitted through Suffolk’s hiring portal and include a curriculum vitae and letter of interest. The letter should be addressed to Professor Sarah Schendel, Director of the Academic Support Program and Chair of the Academic Success Committee. Questions may be directed to Professor Schendel at sschendel@suffolk.edu.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the positions are filled. For fullest consideration, applicants should submit their materials by September 25, 2026.

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000.Salary Transparency
