Job Description
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is a motivated leader who makes sure every building gets cleaned, every night, to our standard. You'll own the scheduling of cleaners, cover call-outs, train the crews, and ensure our quality standards are hit across our accounts throughout Fairfield County from Greenwich to Monroe. This work is mostly in customer buildings, not behind a desk. When we're short, you're cleaning too.
Part-time. 20–25 hours a week. Mostly evenings. Shifts typically start between 4:00 and 6:00 PM and go as late as around 10:00pm. Primarily Monday-Friday, with limited weekends. Grows as we grow.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Schedule – Build it, publish it, keep it covered. You're the number our cleaners call when they're running late, calling out, or can't get in the building - and you find the coverage.
- Build the Bench – Cross-train a line of defense of backup floaters so coverage doesn't depend on one person. When no backup is available, you cover it.
- Lead & Inspire – Supervise cleaning teams, provide training, and create a supportive work environment.
- Mentor & Coach – Identify the rockstars on the team and grow them. We'll train you on what we mean during onboarding.
- Maintain Quality – Conduct documented inspections at every site on a regular cadence, at least once per month. Catch and address any issues before the customer does.
- Run Our Systems – Keep our cleaning app current: job cards completed every shift, close-down checklists done, inspections logged, nothing left open.
- Organize Operations – Coordinate cleaning assignments, manage building access, keep every location stocked, and handle supply ordering.
- Problem Solve – Anticipate challenges, address issues proactively, respond with urgency.
- Safety First – Ensure the team follows all safety, health and sanitation procedures.
- Hit the Budget – Every account has a labor budget. Schedule to it, watch it, and earn a monthly bonus when accounts come in at or under.
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities management preferred. We'll train the right leader from a related hands-on field like housekeeping, food service, warehouse, retail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a positive, hands-on approach.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities at once.
- Comfortable with a smartphone and simple apps - scheduling, job cards, photos, text and email. We'll teach you our systems.
- Someone who holds a high standard by caring about people, not by yelling at them. We aim for seven positive interactions for every one correction.
- Calm under pressure. Things go wrong at night - a no-show, a locked door, a broken machine - and you're the one who sorts it out.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
- Competitive pay - $23–$26/hour, paid weekly - plus the ability to earn a monthly performance bonus.
- Paid sick leave in accordance with Connecticut law.
- A positive, supportive team culture where your leadership is valued.
- Full training on our national franchise system's operations, safety, and OSHA programs.
- Real growth. We're building this company rapidly, and the person who takes this role and runs with it grows into more hours, more pay, and more responsibility - including recruiting and hiring - as we add accounts.
- The chance to make an impact by helping customers enjoy safe, clean and welcoming spaces.
- Owners who value the team's growth and development and who are in the buildings with you, not just sending texts.
