As a faith-based organization, QueensCare provides, directly and in collaboration with others, accessible quality healthcare for low-income individuals and families residing in Los Angeles County.

QueensCare is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization originally founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Sacred Heart, whose mission of compassion and accessible healthcare continues today. QueensCare provides screening, treatment, education, and preventive and direct care to Los Angeles area residents in need. Beyond that, we also give charitable grants to other non-profits making a difference in the City of Angels and fund scholarships for those entering medical fields with an interest in working in underserved communities.

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Health Services, the Mental and Spiritual Health Manager oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental and spiritual health programs and services. This role provides oversight to clinical staff and chaplains, ensuring coordinated, holistic care that addresses psychological, emotional and spiritual needs of communities we serve. Responsibilities include clinical oversight, spiritual care services and community integrating efforts, crisis response, program administration, service outcome measurement, impact assessment, care coordination, referral partnerships and community-based outreach and education efforts. The Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, trauma-informed and compliant care while supporting performance improvement and community engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Management and Clinical Support:

· Provides administration, clinical, and group supervision to clinical staff to ensure effective oversight and support.

· Oversees incorporation of spiritual care services into the suite of existing mental health program offerings, including development of care pathways that incorporate chaplaincy support, where appropriate and of interest for clients.

· Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates program activities.

· Manages team productivity by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to improve outcomes and efficiency.

· Manages referrals for services and assigns them to clinicians, as appropriate.

· Provides leadership and guidance during crisis situations, including coordination of clinical and spiritual response.

· Reviews and co-signs clinical documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.) within the required timeframes to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements (e.g. DMH,Medi-Cal).

· Leads interdisciplinary team meetings, including clinical and chaplaincy staff, and presents updates to leadership and internal and external stakeholders.

· Participates in community outreach events such as health fairs and educational workshops.

· Organizes and conducts training sessions and workshops for community members, program staff, and other departments within the organizations.

· Collaborates with other programs and community organizations to provide links to services and enhance service delivery.

· Performs other duties as assigned to contribute to overall team functionality and organizational success.

Administrative Support:

· Oversees EHR utilization and ensures compliant documentation of all services.

· Creates and manages budgets for each service line.

· Oversees accuracy of contracts, subcontracts, and agreements.

· Implements continuous quality improvement processes.

· Develops and implements policies and procedures.

· Reviews and completes comprehensive program reports.

Policies and Performance:

· Supports and implements the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

· Complies with and promotes adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

· Determines priorities and methods to complete daily tasks effectively, ensuring all responsibilities are met promptly.

· Performs all job functions professionally and courteously, including timely response to general phone calls and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

· Fosters and promotes a culture of service excellence and accountability.

· Manages highly sensitive information professionally and ethically. Prepares, reproduces, and distributes data for reports and presentations as needed.

· Attends training and educational sessions, as required.

· Must be willing and able to work all business hours including evenings and weekends to attend health fairs/events as needed.

· Expected to uphold organizational standards of professionalism, accountability, ethics, and integrity, while fostering a respectful and high-performing work environment.

· Responsibilities include providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback, addressing performance or conduct concerns in a timely manner, and utilizing progressive counseling, when appropriate, to support employee accountability and development.

· Must be willing and able to work at all locations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

· Master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited institution or psychology from an accredited college or university.

· Must have license in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Science or the California Board of Psychology (LCSW, MFT, or PsyD.)

EXPERIENCE:

· Experience working with adults, children, and families from diverse social, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds.

· At least two (2) years post licensure (up to date with training requirements to provide clinical supervision).

· Minimum of four (4) years of experience in program administration, with at least three (3) years of direct management experience.

· Experience with the development, administration, and management of staff competencies.

· Experience in quality management within mental health and community healthcare clinical settings, with a focus on assessing and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of a care delivery system for both patients and staff.

· Experience in managing or responding to crisis situations.

· Knowledge of Department of Mental Health (DMH) documentation, regulatory and billing requirements strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

· Knowledge of mental health care services, community resources, social services providers, and trends in the field.

· Strong clinical skills and understanding of various mental health conditions, their symptoms, and evidence-based treatment approaches.

· Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and intervention strategies.

· Promotion of process improvement.

· Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications such as Teams, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and EHR- EXYM.

SKILLS:

· Works well with children, adolescents, and adults.

· Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage administrative tasks efficiently.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact compassionately with patients of diverse backgrounds.

· Understands which decisions can be made alone and which decisions need to involve others.

· Demonstrates a self-directed mature, disciplined, and tactful approach to fulfilling job duties.

· Demonstrates ability and flexibility to work in other areas of the organization, as needed.

· Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both oral and written, preferably bilingual (Spanish- oral).

· Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and provide standard first aid care.

· Demonstrates the ability to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.

The pay range for this role is:108,873 - 131,801 USD per year(US National)
