This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to strategic mergers and acquisitions initiatives within the software industry. You will play a key role in identifying, engaging, and nurturing relationships with founders, executives, and key stakeholders of potential acquisition targets across India. The position combines market research, business development, relationship management, and strategic outreach to support long-term growth objectives. Working closely with senior M&A leadership, you will help build and maintain a strong acquisition pipeline while evaluating opportunities aligned with strategic priorities. Accountabilities:
  • Research and identify software companies that align with acquisition strategies, market focus, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with founders, executives, advisors, bankers, and other key ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Lead outreach initiatives through calls, emails, networking, and relationship-building activities to generate acquisition opportunities.
  • Manage a structured outreach schedule and consistently meet activity and pipeline development targets.
  • Engage with prospective companies to assess business fit, strategic alignment, and interest in potential transactions.
  • Support the M&A team in qualifying acquisition opportunities and progressing targets through the deal pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activities within CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support research, lead generation, and market intelligence efforts.
  • Travel within India as required to strengthen relationships and facilitate business discussions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing strategies, relationship management practices, and market engagement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in business development, IT sales, partnerships, or M&A deal origination.
  • Strong passion for relationship management, networking, research, and opportunity generation.
  • Basic understanding of mergers & acquisitions processes and financial concepts is preferred.
  • Experience building and managing business pipelines with a structured and target-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong professional etiquette.
  • Confidence in cold-calling, outreach activities, and initiating conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, curious, resilient, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce or equivalent tools is an advantage.
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree from a recognized institution; Business, Economics, or Finance background is a plus.
