Maintenance Associate in Glendale Heights, Illinois at Gosincro Inc

The Maintenance Custodian plays a critical role in our export warehouse operations by ensuring warehouse organization and cleanliness throughout the shift. This position is custodial and maintenance focused. The person in this role will learn and perform general preventive maintenance and repairs on all warehouse equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.

• Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics environment (preferred)
• Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic computer proficiency (data entry, software navigation)
• Basic knowledge and use
  of various tools and equipment
• Willingness and desire to learn new skills

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, ceiling vents, machines, removing trash,etc)
• Perform office janitorial duties when needed. Clean office areas, breakroom, restrooms, and kitchen (including refrigerators and microwaves).
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment (machines, printers, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
• Perform repairs and assembly using hand and power tools (carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc)
• Stock and maintain warehouse supplies
• Maintain cleaning inventory, requesting orders for shortages and new products when needed
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or unsafe conditions
• Document preventative maintenance and record machine down time
• Maintain machine spare parts inventory
• Maintain tools and equipment in serviceable condition
• Adheres to company policies and procedures
• Perform other job duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to:
  • Maintain grounds - trash pickup, clean cigarette receptacles, winter weather upkeep
  • Handles leaf and snow removal as needed
  • Cleaning warehouse floor to include spills (sweep and mop as needed)

Safety:

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Perform all tasks in a manner which promotes safety in accordance with OSHA standards.

Compensation: $19.50 – $21.50 per hour DOE
