Developmental Mathematics Professor Responsibilities & Duties
Develop and deliver engaging and effective lectures and learning activities for Developmental Mathematics courses
Provide individual and small-group support to students who are struggling with the material
Evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback on their performance
Collaborate with other Mathematics faculty and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Engage in scholarly and professional activities that support the mission of our institution
Maintain accurate records and data related to student learning outcomes and other relevant information
Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in Developmental Mathematics teaching and learning
Developmental Mathematics Professor Qualifications & Skills:
Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field
Minimum requirements, Master’s Degree and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
Demonstrated experience teaching Developmental Mathematics at the post-secondary level or experience teaching high school mathematics courses.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching materials
Commitment to student success and a growth mindset
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience using technology such as, Canvas and online tools to support teaching and learning
A passion for continuous learning and professional development
Supervisory Responsibility:
None (unless otherwise designated by the department)
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, including the human body.
Light work typically requiring walking or standing to a significant degree.
Working Conditions and Environment:
Work is routinely performed in a standard interior/office environment.
Limited or no exposure to physical risk.
