Job Description

Create a transparent, professional finance experience while driving strong results!

Johnson Volvo Cars Charlotte is looking for an experienced, polished, and performance-driven Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager to join our team.

Our F&I Manager plays an important role in completing the vehicle purchase experience, helping customers understand their financing options, presenting products that can support their ownership experience, coordinating with lenders, and ensuring every transaction is completed accurately and compliantly.

We're looking for someone who can balance strong financial performance with the professionalism, transparency, and customer experience expected at Johnson Volvo Cars Charlotte.

What You'll Do

As an F&I Manager, you'll:

  • Build strong relationships with customers, Sales Consultants, Sales Management, and lending partners.

  • Conduct a consultative interview to understand each customer's financing needs and preferences.

  • Review credit information and structure transactions appropriately.

  • Submit transactions to lenders and work to secure competitive financing terms.

  • Maintain productive relationships with banks, credit unions, and other lending partners.

  • Clearly explain available financing and payment options.

  • Present F&I products through a consistent and professional menu process.

  • Explain product coverage, benefits, costs, and available options accurately and transparently.

  • Recommend products based on individual customer needs and ownership considerations.

  • Complete contracts, disclosures, lender documents, and other transaction paperwork accurately and efficiently.

  • Monitor contracts in transit and proactively resolve documentation or funding issues.

  • Maintain current knowledge of lender programs, dealership products, manufacturer offerings, and applicable requirements.

  • Work closely with the Sales team to create an efficient transition from vehicle selection through final delivery.

  • Follow up with customers when necessary and help build long-term loyalty and referral business.

  • Consistently work toward individual and departmental financial and customer-satisfaction objectives.

Compliance Matters

Success in F&I requires more than strong numbers. Accuracy, transparency, and integrity are essential.

The F&I Manager is expected to:

  • Follow applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

  • Adhere to Johnson Automotive policies, procedures, and established F&I processes.

  • Present financing and F&I products consistently and transparently.

  • Accurately represent product coverage, terms, costs, and limitations.

  • Maintain complete and accurate transaction documentation.

  • Protect confidential customer and financial information.

  • Identify and resolve documentation or compliance concerns promptly.

  • Elevate questions or concerns when appropriate rather than taking unnecessary compliance risks.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates should bring:

  • Previous automotive F&I experience, automotive sales management experience, or comparable retail automotive finance experience.

  • Strong understanding of automotive financing, lender relationships, and F&I products.

  • Experience structuring and submitting transactions to lenders.

  • Strong consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

  • The ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfort working with dealership technology, lender platforms, and F&I systems.

  • Strong judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with Sales Management, Sales Consultants, lenders, and other dealership departments.

  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under Company standards.

  • Availability to work a retail automotive schedule, including Saturdays as required.

Volvo experience is a plus, but strong automotive finance experience, compliance discipline, and the ability to create an exceptional customer experience are what matter most.

What Success Looks Like

Successful F&I Managers consistently deliver results across both financial performance and customer experience, including:

  • Strong Finance PVR.

  • Consistent F&I product presentation and penetration.

  • Achievement of individual and departmental sales objectives.

  • Timely and accurate transaction documentation.

  • Effective contracts-in-transit management.

  • Strong lender relationships and transaction structuring.

  • Excellent customer satisfaction.

  • Consistent compliance with established processes and regulatory requirements.

  • Professional collaboration with Sales and dealership leadership.

  • Continued product, lender, and industry knowledge.
