ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively organize and teach assigned clinical work in accordance with established and/or developed syllabi.
- Reinforce theory concepts in the clinical setting.
- Evaluate and report student performance and progress in assigned courses to comply with department and college policies.
- Strives to obtain a variety of learning experiences for each individual student, maintaining client privacy and safety.
- Provide a clinical schedule to the clinical agencies and keep them informed of changes. Provide a system for maintaining records and reports to document student achievement and attendance.
- Treat each student as an individual with worth, critiquing work in a constructive manner. Guides students in nursing care on the clinical unit with written weekly evaluations of clinical practice.
- Maintains a professional image in the clinical area, setting a positive example in appearance and manner.
- Orients students to the clinical setting and weekly selects appropriate clients for student learning experience.
- Plan and guide purposeful clinical pre- and post-conferences as appropriate.
- Build a positive rapport and interact professionally with nursing staff and other medical personnel from the clinical agency.
- Report and discuss student progress, concerns, and absences with the lead theory instructor.
- Assist in the promotion and support of the department
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other nursing instructors.
- Attend meetings of the Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor.
- In case of absence, part-time instructors will notify the lead theory instructor.
- Maintain student and patient confidentiality.

- Possess the ability to organize and present various concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and strengths; and be able to adjust teaching techniques accordingly
- Act professionally in the clinical setting.
- Assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgement when making decisions.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and the general public.
- Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form.
- Possess strong human relation skills, being able to work with diverse personalities.
- Be a creative, energetic, and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
- Possess a basic knowledge of personal computers and educational media equipment.
- Perform duties that in compliance with current legal and ethical practices of the nursing profession.
- Demonstrate competencies and clinical skills appropriate to the practice of nursing.
- Involve the student in the educational process.
Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) with 2 years nursing experience.

GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves constant (67-100%) sitting, standing and/or walking in the classroom, talking hearing, listening, viewing, lifting up to 20 (or 50) pounds, squatting, bending; frequent (34-66%) writing on board or overhead, manipulating instructional aids/equipment.
