Position Summary

This is an active walking post in a fast-paced urban environment. Officers are expected to remain on their feet for the majority of the shift, conduct continuous patrols, and maintain strong situational awareness at all times.



Responsibilities

Security Operations
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety and security

  • Monitor premises, surveillance systems, and access points

  • Control access by verifying credentials, badges, and visitor authorization

  • Identify and respond to suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents

Customer Service
  • Provide professional, courteous, and helpful assistance to employees, visitors, and clients

  • Serve as a visible security presence to deter potential threats

  • Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all situations

  • Represent the company’s values and commitment to service excellence

Reporting & Documentation
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports

  • Document security events, violations, and unusual occurrences

  • Communicate incidents and concerns promptly to supervisors and leadership

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and post orders

  • Adhere to client-specific requirements and security protocols

  • Maintain required licenses and certifications

  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism



Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid security license or ability to obtain required licensing
  • Successful background check and drug screening
  • Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or comparable high-accountability role required
  • Strong verbal communication and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to remain alert, focused, and composed in high-pressure environments
  • Comfortable working continuously in crowded, fast-moving public spaces
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift without restriction
  • Reliable transportation

Preferred:

  • 1+ years security experience in commercial, transit, retail, or mixed-use environments
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certification
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring, access control, and alarm response systems
  • Prior foot patrol or rover experience
  • Formal de-escalation or crisis intervention training

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain on feet and actively mobile for extended periods (majority of shift)
  • Continuous walking patrols across large indoor and outdoor property areas
  • Ability to work in high-density public environments, including transit and retail areas
  • Ability to maintain attention and situational awareness without extended downtime
  • Ability to safely navigate stairs, ramps, sidewalks, and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
