In this role, you will act as a key legal partner to teams building and scaling cutting-edge AI products, helping ensure innovation moves forward responsibly and in compliance with evolving global regulations. You will work across the full product lifecycle, advising Product, Engineering, R&D, and Go-To-Market teams on complex issues spanning AI, privacy, intellectual property, security, and commercialization. The role sits at the intersection of law, technology, and product strategy, requiring a pragmatic approach to balancing risk with business impact. You will help shape how advanced AI systems are brought to market, ensuring legal frameworks scale alongside product innovation. This is a highly cross-functional environment where you will translate regulatory complexity into clear, actionable guidance. You will also contribute to building scalable legal processes, governance frameworks, and internal playbooks that support rapid growth. The work is fast-paced, globally oriented, and deeply embedded in one of the most dynamic areas of technology today.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and R&D teams across the full product lifecycle to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks related to AI, privacy, IP, security, open source, and marketing.
- Advise Go-To-Market and Business Operations teams on product commercialization, licensing models, positioning, and regulatory considerations.
- Monitor and interpret evolving global regulations in AI, privacy, data protection, and competition law, ensuring proactive compliance strategies.
- Draft, implement, and maintain scalable legal frameworks, playbooks, and internal guidance to support consistent decision-making across teams.
- Support the development and governance of privacy, security, and AI compliance programs, including audits and risk assessments.
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice that enables business teams to move quickly while managing risk appropriately.
This role requires a strong legal background with deep experience advising technology or SaaS companies on complex product and privacy matters. Candidates should be comfortable working closely with technical teams and translating legal frameworks into practical product guidance. A strong understanding of AI/ML systems and emerging regulatory landscapes is essential, along with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in balancing risk and innovation are critical.
- Law degree and qualification to practice in-house in a relevant jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience, including significant exposure to SaaS product counseling.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and associated legal considerations (IP, privacy, algorithmic accountability).
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and other major privacy regulations; experience with biometric data or automated decision-making is a plus.
- Experience advising cross-functional product, engineering, and business teams in a tech environment.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business guidance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Prior exposure to generative AI technologies is strongly preferred.
