Position Summary
Directed by the Senior Design Specialist the position will assist in the design process for the construction of Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants coordinating design development for retrofitted, relocated, and new sites.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties will be assigned to meet business needs.
- Manage projects from design (LOI Out) through plan completion
- Keep detailed notes and tracking in FranConnect throughout the full design process and store information in the SDrive.
- Coordinate LL work and LL building CAD file information to architects for plan development
- Coordinate with the Real Estate team on details of upcoming projects: timelines/pacing/architects to hire for the job
- Complete layouts for upcoming projects, including non-traditional sites, to include coordination and approval with franchisee and RVP.
- Manage architects on layout and plan submissions for permit review
- Maintain project schedules through the architectural process
- Review project plan sets for corporate approval
- Update construction Drop Box link for field Directors of Construction and Vendor use for bidding
- Assist with Approved Architectural training classes
- Review architectural bids
- Update existing store designs if retrofits are required to better operational efficiency – requested by the franchisee.
- Utilize Standard Layout Template and provide site survey template for layout development
- Update standard CAD files for full plans set use
Qualifications
- Degree in Architectural design or equivalent
- CAD, BlueBeam, and Sketch Up proficient
- 2+ years’ experience in architectural design and review
- Ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of building codes
- Project management experience
- Excellent communication and organizations skills
- Ability to review and understand plans
- Detail oriented
