Job Summary:
The position will split time between clinical shifts and administrative duties
Will report to the APP Director
Will act as a clinical leader and mentor, working collaboratively with the physician and operations leadership to develop and improve department operations
Will act as a liaison between APPs at the clinical sites and the corporate office by providing strong and accessible leadership
Will interact with the APP Site Directors as well as the site Medical Directors through involvement in department meetings, evaluations, improvement measures, compliance, coaching & mentoring, recruiting, staffing, retention, and onboarding
Essential Functions of the Job:
Administration
Participate in executive management meetings at system level to successfully communicate information to APP Site Directors
Provide administrative support and leadership to the Site APP Directors
Work with System Director and Director of Operations on standardization of the critical care service line and development of a critical care fellowship
Attendance at the following:
Collaborative meetings
Individual site APP meetings
Monthly department meetings
Service line conferences
Administrative Duties:
Organizing and coordinating all system wide APP related projects
Providing procedural training for all ICU APP
Collaborating with APP director of education for APP attendance to all appropriate training
Assisting site leadership with timely completion of charting
Oversight of APP onboarding, documentation training, and education at sites
Monthly communication with APP Site Directors
Check-ins with ICU directors
Standardizing APP operations and implementing best practices across the EHM service line
Responsible for verifying, approving and electronically submitting biweekly hours for APP site directors to payroll department
Notify Human Resources for any extended Leaves of Absence and Resignations
Assist site leadership with APP performance related issues
Assist in Hiring, Interviewing, and Salary negotiations of new hires
Weekly communication with Human Resources/Recruiting team
Conducting exit interviews
Monthly site visits
Assist in providing APP Professional development
Responsible for other duties necessary for the efficient functioning of APPs at the particular ICU site
Ensuring SMD, APP SD, and APPs are aware of true up process, CME benefits, and PTO usage
Clinical
The ICU PA/NP is prepared to deliver health care, including but not limited to: recognition & management of critical illnesses in the ICU Department setting, some of which may be determined by protocol; provision of care across the health care continuum
