A day in the life...

The Night Audit is responsible for all overnight guest services, as well as balancing daily charges and payments, completing a daily checklist, generating business flash reports, and performing routine tasks to ensure our operation runs smoothly throughout the day.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Execute a variety of financial transactions such as balancing charges and payments, verifying tills, preparing a summary of cash, check, and credit card transactions, and completing daily business revenue and labor flash reports.
  • Daily operational tasks of the front desk, such as knowing the property details, amenities, and services.
  • Utilizing the property management software to make reservations, process deposits, authorizations, and process guest transactions.
  • Complete a detailed daily shift report, ensuring all guest requests and information are documented and reported to the next shift team members.
  • Answering telephones and assisting guests by phone. Responding to software from the in-room tablets and assisting guests by SMS or app. Responding in person to any guest calls and assisting guests to their satisfaction, which may include occasional cleaning of bathrooms, making beds, plunging toilets, picking up trash, and assisting with luggage, among other tasks.
  • Perform reports tracking room revenues, occupancy rates, housekeeping room status reports, arrival and departure reports, cash, and credit card transactions. Noting and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Safety and security will always be top of mind for you. You will actively collaborate with your overnight teammates to ensure each property is secure and that all guests are in a safe environment
  • Understanding our availability, rates, packages, and promotions, and actively working to secure every reservation.
  • Working as a team. Recognize when a team member may need support and lend a hand.
Requirements:

You own this if you have...

  • Previous experience in a hotel and/or resort setting preferred (not required)
  • Must be available to work within the hours of 9:00pm to 7:00am. The “typical” shift of the Audit team is 4 ten-hour days per week.
  • Experience with cash handling and completing customer service transactions.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured is required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Excellent skills with front office computer software, such as Microsoft Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and a variety of service and reservation systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to handle a variety of Guest Service-related situations and thrive in an environment that requires you to multi-task.
  • Skill or experience in multi-line phone systems preferred.
  • A valid Oregon Food Handlers permit.
