Job Description
Position Summary
The AR Representative is responsible for the day-to-day collection and cash application activities that protect ARL Network's revenue and cash flow. This role manages an assigned portfolio of accounts, proactively pursuing payment on outstanding invoices, resolving routine disputes, and maintaining accurate, professional communication with customers, agents, and IBEs. The AR Representative reports to the AR Supervisor or Manager and is a key contributor to the team's collection performance.
Core Responsibilities
? Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts, proactively contacting customers, agents, and IBEs to collect on outstanding invoices.
? Investigate and resolve routine collection issues, short-payment claims, and billing discrepancies, escalating complex disputes to the AR Supervisor as needed.
? Apply cash receipts accurately and on time, ensuring proper allocation across invoices and accounts.
? Monitor and maintain an up-to-date aging report for the assigned portfolio, prioritizing outreach on delinquent accounts.
? Document all collection activity, customer communications, and dispute resolutions accurately in the system of record.
? Communicate professionally with internal partners in Billing, Settlements, and Quality to resolve the root causes of non-payment.
? Meet individual collection goals and contribute to overall team performance targets.
Key Performance Indicator
Success in this role is primarily measured by keeping disallowed or uncollectible accounts receivable at 3% or lower of the assigned portfolio.
Requirements:Qualifications
? High school diploma required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
? One or more years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or customer service preferred.
? Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
? Working knowledge of basic collection techniques and best practices.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
? Proficiency with TMS and accounting software, and comfort learning new systems.
