Job Description
Job Title: Therapist
Reports To: Chief Program Officer
General Purpose: This is a full-time position providing mental health and counseling services to children, youth, young adults, and families. The services include, but are not limited to psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, utilizing and understanding diagnostic criteria & screening tools, treatment planning, and individual, group and family therapy.
Essential Functions:
· Provide appropriate therapeutic intervention for crisis counseling services, working with children, youth and families.
· Schedule individual and family counseling sessions with clients and their families. Some evenings may be required.
· Maintain timely and appropriate files & documentation on all residential and community clients.
· Design and develop therapeutic interventions, including group, individual, and family counseling, to address the therapeutic needs of residential and community clients.
· Engage families in developing action plans, desired outcomes, and goals.
· Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to meet the emotional, behavioral, and social needs of all clients, and assist in individual service plans. This includes, but not limited to, assisting in assessments of clients, service planning, discharges, and making referrals.
· Participate in internal and external program meetings, including client staffing as needed.
· Represent City House at community events through education and information of services available, as needed.
· Maintain licensing credentials as required and attend required agency training as well as CEU’s.
· Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory standards/requirements.
· Report any suspicion of child abuse within a 24-hour period.
· Set high standard for professional, technical, personal conduct and competence including upholding the Social Work Code of Ethics.
· Additional tasks/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by supervisor, which may include after-hours meetings & events.
Requirements:1. Master's degree in social work, counseling, or another related field
2. Fully Licensed in the State of Texas as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT
3. Minimum of three years of experience working with children, youth, and/or young adults in a therapeutic setting or related experience.
4. Knowledge of issues related to youth homelessness, youth abuse/neglect, family conflict, teenage pregnancy, LGBTQ+ community, life skills, child development and competency-based approach to working with youth.
5. Valid driver's license and insurance.
6. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Effective organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision if necessary.

8. Willing to complete background checks and drug screening
