Monday through Friday 8am to 5 pm

The Contractor Counter Sales position is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service to contractors at the sales counter. This role focuses on accurately understanding customer needs and efficiently processing sales transactions to ensure a seamless purchasing experience. The successful candidate will manage inventory inquiries, assist the sales team and maintain strong relationships with customers to support repeat business and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Contractor Counter Sales professional contributes to the overall success of the sales operation by fostering a positive, professional environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in a construction or building materials environment.
• Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working directly with contractors or in a construction supply setting.
• Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and industry terminology.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and specialized sales software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service or related training.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist contractors at the sales counter, providing exceptional customer service.
• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash, credit, or other payment methods.
• Manage inventory inquiries, check stock and special orders availability to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of product lines, pricing, and promotions to effectively support customer purchasing decisions.
