About This Position
The Director of IT Infrastructure, at Mission Critical Group will be responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure of MCG and it's operating companies, managing relationships with various vendors, and coordinating with a Managed Service Provider (MSP). This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background, excellent management skills, and the ability to drive IT initiatives that align with the overall business objectives
- Develop and implement IT strategies collaborating with the VP, Business Services that align with MCG's business objectives and growth plans.
- Analyze high-level business needs and research new technologies to identify and select IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes.
- Evaluate methodologies, processes, and specifications for IT Infrastructure to develop an IT strategy and roadmap and ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards.
- Plan and design an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance in partnership with vendors.
- Oversees IT projects through their entire lifecycle to ensure completion is on-time and within budget and provides technical guidance to resolve complex issues.
- Develop and manage the IT security policies and procedures for the company.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and data centers.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect company data and systems.
- Manage physical security and access control process with outsourced vendor.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors and the MSP.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, recommending and implementing new solutions to enhance business operations.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent professional IT experience.
- A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Required Skill/Abilities:
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and project management.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure the IT team is adequately staffed and trained to meet the company's goals.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over 40 hours (including weekends or holidays)
- Work is normally conducted in an office environment setting with no exposure to excessive heat, cold, or noise.
- Significant desk work on a computer
- Lifting requirements of thirty-five (35) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
