Youth Development Professional at Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club – Santa Clarita, California

• Schedule: MUST be available Monday-Thursday, 1:30 PM - 5/6:30PM, and Fridays, 11:30 AM - 5/6:30PM.
• Job Type: Part-time, Non-exempt
• Pay: $18 per hour
• Work Location: TBD (One of the 9 Boys and Girls Club Elementary School Sites within the Newhall School District)

You will work with children from various socioeconomic backgrounds, making a direct impact on their lives and futures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of youth development programs under the supervision of the School Site Manager, Site Coordinator, or Clubhouse Director.
• Develop meaningful relationships with youth in an after-school and summer program setting.
• Engage with children, ensuring their safety, participation, and enjoyment in activities.
• Supervise and interact with children (K-6th grade) during after-school hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals and initiatives.

• MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children in a positive and effective manner.
• Ability to move up to 25 pounds, bend, & move about the classroom & playground for long periods to ensure child safety. Must be able to be stationary for long periods.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Able to pass a drug screen, TB test and Federal background check
