The successful candidate shall be responsible for the following:
- Automation and standardization of HVAC, Water Purification, and Wastewater Treatment, Toxic Gas Monitoring System and Chemical Management processes and operator interfaces for operating facilities systems safely and efficiently.
- Define control system and instrumentation maintenance requirements and procedures. Develop standard operating procedures and train control system operators and users on all new systems.
- Identify, develop, and design control system improvements and upgrades for enhanced system functionality and reliability. Identify instrumentation deficiencies and suggest alternatives.
- Work with engineering, system integrators, system owners and operators to improve the design and control of their systems or solve control issues.
- Create or modify control systems hardware and software for small projects and to address existing control issues.
- Troubleshoot issues with hardware, networking, and software on site control systems.
- Review performance of existing systems to identify areas for improved operations.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate successful interactions with internal and external customers.
- Pursue training in related disciplines to advance control systems and integration skills
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in technology, systems, engineering or related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization OR equivalent educational and professional experience and training associated in a highly technical environment combined with a minimum of 5 years' experience in instrumentation and controls or electrical/mechanical maintenance.
- 3+ years of practical experience with HMI/SCADA (preferably GE Proficy/iFix Products) or Rockwell Automation Control Logix and/or Schneider Electric PLC products or knowledge of other Facility Management Systems (PLC & SCADA).
- 3+ years of practical experience creating and/or reviewing construction design specifications (e.g. Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) or Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) or Sequence of Operations (SOO)).
- 3+ years of experience working with multiple vendors and contractors designing robust facility systems using industry and facility specific standards.
- Ability to work occasional evening or overnight shift and be available for afterhours support calls

PREFERRED QUALIFICATOINS
- Field instrumentation installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Programmable logic controller and SCADA system installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and specifying Industrial Ethernet Networks and related system security.
- Experience working in semiconductor facilities I&C design, including working with IO assignment, P&ID Development, Panel Design, Control Narrative development.
- Prior gas monitoring maintenance experience or semiconductor tool maintenance experience.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance management systems.
- Strong, concise writing skills presenting robust rationale, arguments, and clear instructions/guidance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead in diverse and inclusive team environments.
- Continuous-improvement mindset, self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills
