Lead a team of engineers in developing software for our next-generation stage technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with non-technical partners to define and document needs, translating them into technical specifications for the engineering team. This individual will proactively identify and address potential challenges, such as scope creep, and eliminate obstacles to ensure projects remain on track. They will establish a high-level architectural vision for all team projects and foster a culture of quality and dedication, mentoring team members through code reviews, regular interaction, and iterative adjustments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of software that drives our stage workflows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and prioritize requirements, and strive to deliver functionality early and often
- Support team leads and project managers in developing project roadmaps to ensure timely and successful delivery of complex projects
- Develop and drive quality assurance practices to ensure that features are validated in production
- Communicate project updates and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery
- Collaborate with other engineering managers to drive cross-team initiatives and ensure alignment with company goals
- Ensure development adheres to established standards and best practices
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and mentorship
- Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation and continuous learning
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members
- Minimum five (5) years experience leading software engineering teams
- Minimum ten (10) years Python software development experience
- Minimum five (5) years Virtual Production experience
- Understanding of stage technologies, including LED walls, motion capture, volume capture and reconstruction, and virtual camera workflows
- Experience with Unreal Engine for virtual production, previz, and final frame rendering
- Demonstrated ability to architect complex workflows and communicate designs to stakeholders and team members
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-directed, proactive, detailed, organized and solution-oriented personality
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Los Angeles, California. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
