Job Description

Description:

ALLWEST is looking for an experienced Project Manager / Special Inspector to join our Tri-Cities team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced field professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility in project management while continuing to stay connected to the technical side of the work.

The Project Manager supports the successful delivery of engineering, environmental, and construction materials testing projects by helping coordinate project activities, monitor scope and budgets, communicate with clients and field staff, and keep projects moving from start to finish. Project management responsibilities are performed alongside the employee's primary operational role, such as Special Inspections or field testing.

This position is expected to be approximately 50% office/project management and 50% field work. Travel is expected to remain primarily within the local service region.

What You'll Do
  • Manage client communication throughout the project lifecycle, including emails and RFQs.
  • Support project scopes, budgets, proposals, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Monitor project progress, scope, spending, risks, and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, field staff, and regulatory agencies to keep projects on track.
  • Support quality control, invoicing, deliverables, and project closeout.
  • Perform Special Inspections, field testing, and other technical responsibilities as needed.
  • Bridge field operations and project management while partnering with leadership on project strategy and professional growth.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in construction materials testing, Special Inspections, engineering, environmental services, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience with project management functions such as scheduling, reporting, client coordination, and documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and client-service skills.
  • Ability to balance project management responsibilities with field work.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • PMP and relevant Special Inspection certifications preferred.
Requirements: Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position combines office and outdoor project-site work. Candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk and navigate uneven terrain on active job sites, stoop, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position may require work in varying weather conditions, as well as overtime, weekends, or holidays during the March through November peak season.
