About This Position

The Manager, Driver Training & Experience is responsible for leading and integrating enterprise driver training, development, and onboarding experience functions to ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality first impression for all professional drivers. This role oversees both training content and delivery as well as the driver orientation and lodging experience, ensuring alignment between learning, operations, and overall driver satisfaction. The Manager will lead teams, drive process improvements, and partner cross-functionally to enhance training effectiveness, operational efficiency, and driver retention outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise driver training programs
  • Ensure training content is relevant, standardized, and scalable across all DOTs and business units
  • Partner with Safety, Operations, and Leadership to align training with business needs and performance expectations
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through data analysis, driver feedback, and performance metrics
  • Drive innovation in training delivery (classroom, digital, video, hands-on learning)
  • Oversee the end-to-end driver onboarding and orientation experience, including dorm operations and facility standards
  • Ensure a positive, professional first impression for all incoming drivers
  • Lead dorm operations including staffing, vendor coordination, inventory, and facility management
  • Establish and monitor driver satisfaction metrics and implement improvements
  • Standardize processes across training and dorm operations to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Oversee reporting, data accuracy, and system utilization (e.g., training metrics, dorm systems, onboarding tracking)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce friction and enhance the driver experience Ensure seamless transition from orientation to operations (OPS handoff)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work and communicate well with others
  • Knowledge of adult learning processes and teaching techniques
  • Ability to develop curriculum with minimal supervision
  • Attention to details, including with review of written work and video production material
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to facilitate group discussion with SMEs and stakeholders to ascertain pertinent information for improved training content and delivery

Education/Experience

  • Experience in the transportation industry (preferred)
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in people management Minimum of 2 years’ in curriculum development
  • Proficiency with Technology Systems – Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Articulate, any LMS etc

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

  • Expected Pay Range: $56,139.20-$64,168.00
  • Pay Range: $56,139.20-$88,836.80
  • Pay Grade: 9
