Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Electrician to support operations in a high-performance metals manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with industrial electrical systems, automation, and preventative maintenance in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on production equipment and facility systems
- Maintain and service PLC-controlled systems, motor controls, VFDs, drives, and industrial automation equipment
- Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, panels, sensors, and control systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and automation systems
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and read electrical schematics
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems and industrial safety standards
- Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus
- Ability to work overtime or flexible hours as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical certification, trade school, or apprenticeship preferred
Work Environment
- Industrial metals manufacturing facility
- Exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery
- Physically active role requiring standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
