Job Description
The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating asset-backed, mortgage-backed and risk transfer securities, primarily to support our valuation services. In this role, the analyst will receive training on the products, programs, and procedures used to value these investments. The position works closely with structured products traders and salespeople and includes exposure to clients outside the firm. The work primarily involves cash flow modeling and reviewing legal documentation. The analyst will build models in Excel and use industry-standard analytical software.
This role offers strong training for an entry-level candidate to learn how the mortgage and asset-backed securities markets function. It also provides a path toward obtaining securities licenses, including the Series 7 and 63.
- Undergraduate degree in business or mathematics preferred
- Experience building financial models in Excel
- Strong programming skills such as VBA, Python, or Tableau
- Ability to manage expectations of traders, salespeople, and clients while handling multiple projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
