Position Summary
ANSER is seeking a Congressional Requirements & Correspondence Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP), Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES). In this role you will coordinate, analyze, and prepare responses to congressional letters, inquiries, and reporting requirements affecting GIES. You will support leadership by assessing congressional actions and statutes, coordinating inputs across stakeholders, and producing high-quality analytic and written products for senior Department of Defense leadership.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate, consolidate, and draft responses to congressional letters, inquiries, and reporting requirements for GIES.
- Coordinate and collect inputs from GIES directorates and DoD stakeholders to support timely and accurate congressional responses.
- Track congressional correspondence, inquiries, and taskings to ensure responses meet required deadlines and internal review processes.
- Analyze statutes, congressional actions, and legislative proposals to assess potential impacts on GIES programs and activities.
- Prepare summaries and analytic assessments of congressional developments affecting the Defense Industrial Base and economic security initiatives.
- Conduct business and policy analyses to support leadership decision-making and organizational priorities.
- Assist with requirements analysis and needs assessments related to congressional reporting and legislative engagement activities.
- Develop and analyze metrics and performance measures related to congressional engagement, reporting requirements, and organizational performance.
- Prepare analytic reports, briefings, and written products for senior DoD leadership.
- Analyze regulatory developments, business conditions, and policy trends affecting GIES mission areas.
- Identify potential business, policy, or enterprise risks related to congressional requirements and legislative developments.
- Support development of recommendations related to management practices, organizational structure, policy, and business systems.
- Maintain records and documentation related to congressional correspondence, responses, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility/adjudication
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years of relevant experience in one of the following focus areas: Congressional Affairs, National Security, Economics, Finance, or Business Administration
- Experience preparing and managing congressional responses, correspondence, or legislative engagement activities.
- Experience analyzing statutes, congressional actions, and other legislative matters for potential impact on GIES.
- Superior analytic and writing skills with demonstrated ability to prepare reports, briefings, and written products.
- Expertise with modern office tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree.
- 5+ years of experience in one of the following focus areas: Congressional Affairs, National Security, Economics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with senior U.S. Government and DoD leadership.
- Prior experience working on Defense Industrial Base Policy (IBP) or Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES) issues.
