About This Position
Job Title: Building & Equipment Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)
Overview
This role is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of buildings, equipment, and electrical systems. The technician performs routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across multiple trades including electrical, mechanical, and general facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on building, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and building infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, and test electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and building regulations.
- Assist with general labor tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping.
- Other Duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership.
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or electrical repair.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols.
· Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
· Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.
· Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Preferred Certifications· Electrical Technician Certification
· HVAC or Plumbing Certification
· OSHA Safety Training
Work Environment· Industrial, commercial, or residential facilities
· May require shift work, on-call availability, and working at heights or in confined spaces
