Position Summary:

The Revenue Analyst will work on a range of projects with a diverse scope and great complexity related to revenue, billing method reviews, aging analysis, and other accounting related activities. Manage sales tax compliance for the organization. Complete understanding of the USAC funding process including billing and collections. Standard process and procedures are not always present to serve as foundation for creative problem resolution. Work is performed without significant direction and this position will exercise latitude in determining assignment objectives. This position will also be responsible for mentoring Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Members.

Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Perform monthly revenue analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze weekly aging reports to reduce past due invoices.
  • Review organizational billing practices to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition.
  • Verify accuracy of billing data and reports.
  • Develop data tools/modeling to improve and increase the efficiency and value of reporting.
  • Assist with compiling data for audits.
  • Prepare Sales Tax Reporting for the required states in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Manage Sales Tax Process leveraging the Avalara tools including nexus.
  • Research new product and services for applicable sales tax.
  • Manage the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) programs processes (billing to collections) from a funding perspective for qualified customer orders. The programs HBS customers participate in are E-Rate and Rural Health Care.
  • Act as the HBS expert in all USAC matters for the appropriate program. Assisting all stakeholders with proper procedures to ensure the company follows all USAC rules.
  • Provide timely, insightful, actionable, and accurate analysis and recommendations to support company projects and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and feedback to other AR team members.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in developing variable financial models
  • 2 years of supervision of direct reports

Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, or 4+ years of Accounting/Finance related experience
  • Proficient Microsoft Suite Skills

Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

  • Experience with Finance or Accounting ERP system reporting and set up
