Fiberglass Spray Technician at Newbasis – Lebanon, Tennessee

Location: Lebanon, Tennessee
Shift: 1st - Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (4 day/10-hour work schedule)

Purpose of Position
Apply fiberglass materials to products using spray equipment

Key Duties

• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and protective clothing.
• Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces for fiberglass application to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
• Mixing Materials: Accurately mix resins, catalysts, and other materials according to specified ratios and manufacturer guidelines.
• Spraying Fiberglass: Operate and maintain spray equipment to apply fiberglass materials evenly and effectively onto molds or surfaces.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished surfaces for defects and perform necessary touch-ups or repairs to ensure a high-quality finish. Assures technical specification of coating is met.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain spraying equipment, including spray guns, hoses, and compressors, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage, equipment maintenance, and quality checks.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to equipment, materials, or application techniques that may affect the quality or efficiency of the fiberglass spraying process.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure timely completion of projects and meet production deadlines.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and maintaining fiberglass spray equipment. Knowledge of different fiberglass materials and their applications using "chop gun".
• Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality work with attention to detail and specifications.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in various environmental conditions. Must be cleared to wear full-face respirator.
• Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures related to fiberglass spraying and handling related chemicals.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience spraying materials such as (fiberglass, coatings, etc.) is preferred
