Job Description

The Stabilization worker will work as part of a team with the Housing Case Managers for Catholic Charities Family Shelters to create and implement timely permanent housing plans for residents. The Stabilization Worker will be expected to build relationships within the local community and make any necessary referrals. Responsibilities include providing support to residents moving into permanent housing, helping families maintain stable housing 24-36 months post shelter exit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide services in compliance with the agency, programs, funder policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a stabilization plan, updating as necessary every 30 days documenting all efforts and meetings on Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) software.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landlords, management companies and public housing staff to help stabilize family in housing and to help keep other housing opportunities accessible to Catholic Charity clients.
  • Provide home visits, in office, and phone support to all former residents checking in at least monthly via phone and every two months in person.
  • Intervene if tenancy is endangered for any reason.
  • Work is performed in an office setting and in the community, including home visits.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with employees and residents.
  • Attendance at meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Bilingual strongly preferred
  • Attention to detail with excellent written documentation and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently within the community.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software programs as applicable.
  • Valid driver’s license for local travel as needed.
