Curb Coordinator - Calgary, AB

Location: Calgary International Airport

Pay Rate: $18-19 /HR

Hours: Part Time Sat & Su / 5PM to 1AM // Casual

NON-Driving

The Spirit of the Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that exceptional customer service is delivered to patrons of the Calgary International Airport while coordinating with the Taxi Dispatch team to ensure the availability of taxis. The successful candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, maintain efficient taxi operations, and act as a professional representative of LAZ Parking and the airport. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Principal Job Duties

  • Communicate and coordinate with Dispatch to ensure the availability of taxis for guests.
  • Greet guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner and direct them to available taxis.
  • Assist guests with luggage and ensure personal belongings are handled with care.
  • Ensure taxi drivers follow airport procedures and protocols and report occurrences or concerns as necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests, taking every opportunity to assist with questions, concerns, and directions.
  • Exercise proper judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with guests, taxi operators, airport personnel, and coworkers.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with all customers, vendors, coworkers, and management.
  • Frequently operate a two-way radio and communicate effectively with Dispatch and airport stakeholders.
  • Support operational needs and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional presentation with a focus on customer and client relations.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Conducts themselves in a respectful, professional manner with a high level of integrity.
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing learning, coaching, and training..
  • This position requires 100% of work to be completed on-site.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time throughout the shift.
  • Work is performed outdoors for extended periods of time, including up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, heat, cold temperatures, wind, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift up to 22.67 kg (50 lbs).
  • Ability to bend at the knees, squat, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the shift.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
