Description:

Purpose:

The overall goal of this position: 1) to assist with all facets of recruiting & onboarding success throughout the agency and assisting the training and development efforts of the HR Department and 2) to assist with developing, maintaining, and promoting effective community, source, patient, and partner relationships with the agency.

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Tasks/Duties & Job Responsibilities:

  1. Helps create and administer a dynamic Orientation and Onboarding experience for all new staff.
  2. Coordinates with new staff and management personnel to create strategic new hire training plans.
  3. Follows and regularly communicates with new hires for the first ninety days, helping to assure a great transition to their new role and Optimal Home Care.
  4. Assists in the usage, development, and editing of pre-screening assessments, background checks, and or any pre-hire tools to ensure effective and risk-mitigated recruitment.
  5. Assists departmental heads and supervisors to ascertain recruitment and selection needs in order to develop a pool of qualified candidates prior to need that effectively and efficiently fills open positions.
  6. Creates, edits, and maintains effective open job advertisements in order to fill positions “just in time” and posts agency openings both internally and externally.
  7. Works with Manager of HR to ensure seamless job opening communication between agency website and internet portals and utilizes various internet social networking sites so that they are appropriately leveraged.
  8. Leads the pre-screening, interviewing and selection process of candidates for all positions. Manages any use of outside recruiters and/or headhunters.
  9. Promotes internal agency growth by effective communication of opportunities for internal staff to promote and/or transfer appropriately and within agency protocol. Communicates with managers and staff regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidates.
  10. In collaboration with the HR Manager, coordinates various programs throughout the agency that focus on the development of both new hires and current staff and also the strengthening of relationships with sources, patients, clients, and agency partners. Such programs will include but are not limited to: Cultural Engagement, Team Trainer Program, Individual Development Plans, Volunteerism & Community Involvement, Solution Sessions, and the Relationship Team.
  11. Assists in the execution of monthly In-Services in collaboration with department heads and HR
  12. Assists management team in order to improve morale within the agency. Creates, edits, and executes various surveys and feedback sessions in order to gauge morale and support the retention efforts of the HR Manager.
  13. Assists in creating, editing, and maintaining job descriptions, interview guides, and other recruitment support forms for all positions within the agency.
  14. Assists in the writing and forwarding of rejection letters and preparing and sending offer packages and new employee orientation packages.
  15. Prepares reports that will help the HR Manager in making objective decisions as it relates to the HR aspect of the agency and also supports the development, delivery, and training of human resources policies as mandated by the agency’s governing board
  16. Other tasks or special projects may be assigned by management as it pertains to the role of the HR Generalist.
  17. Complies with agency Policies and Procedures as well as Employee Handbook detailing Human Resources policies.
  18. Other duties / responsibilities that support the agency’s core values of Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence.
  19. Completes emergency preparedness training as identified as appropriate for this employee level.
  20. Participates in exercises and drills for emergency preparedness, as required.
  21. Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Optimal Home Care Emergency Command Center communication tree in the event of a local, regional or national emergency and/or disaster.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. Must have a minimum of an Associates Degree from an accredited College or University; Bachelors Degree preferred.
  2. Major strengths include: Customer service, verbal and written communication skills, strong team player, attention to detail and reporting.
  3. Adequate and effective interpersonal skills.
  4. Able to adequately, effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities with efficiency

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary and the employee must occasionally life office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

Travel:

This position does not require travel during normal business hours.
