Job Description

Warehouse Associate

To safely and accurately receive, store, pull and ship product and orders using established Lindenmeyr Munroe (“Company”) inventory policies and procedures and order pick systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs Company established power industrial truck safety check of assigned material handling equipment at beginning of shift.
  • Inspects, fills and stages product for order fulfillment using radio frequency equipment (“RFE”).
  • Manually counts sheets of paper or uses a scale to measure required number of sheets per order. Repackages loose sheets (boxes or wraps in paper).
  • Transfers full/partial boxes onto shipping pallet.
  • Verifies quantities pick to actual order, checking for shortages and/or damage.
  • Prepares product for safe shipping by labeling, packing and wrapping when necessary.
  • Uses power industrial/material handling equipment to move pallets to dock or dock to delivery truck.
  • Receives merchandise, properly checks and puts stock in its proper location on a daily basis.
  • Assists others as necessary (other warehouse members, customers, couriers in call area, sample staff).
  • Adheres to all established safety rules and regulations. Immediately reports any safety hazards/work related injuries to supervisor.
  • Computer/RFE skills.

  • Rarely: 0-5% of the time in an 8-hour workday
  • Occasionally: 6-33% of the time in an 8-hour workday
  • Frequently: 34-66% of the time in an 8-hour workday
  • Constantly: 67-100% of the time in an 8-hour workday

Standing: Frequently. Periods of standing are required for up to several minutes at a time (e.g., while driving forklift truck). Order pickers are on their feet all day and they are moving constantly (except when driving the forklift truck).

Walking: Frequently. Warehouse floor is concrete. Distances may vary

Climbing: Occasionally. Step up and off forklift platform.

Sitting: Frequently. Periods of sitting are required while driving sit-down Hilo to unload trucks and directly put away in bulk locations.

Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally. Up to 70 pounds at various heights and distances:

  • from shoulder height to ground
  • from waist height to ground
  • from waist height to shoulder height
  • from waist height or lower to waist height or lower

Pushing/pulling: Occasionally. Manipulate up to 160 pounds of product:

  • sliding box off pallet to hand truck
  • sliding box from waist height to ground
  • sliding box from waist height to waist height

Pushing/pulling Frequently. Using hand truck and manual pallet jack to move loads of 5 cartons or more.

Bending: Occasionally. While operating dock leveler controls, moving product from pallet to hand truck, scanning product while using RF equipment, opening and closing dock leveler, unwrapping pallet, and occasionally to open rear door

Reaching: Occasionally. To access boxes on pallet.

Crouching/kneeling: Rarely. Up to a few minutes at a time while performing safety inspection or verifying product.

Balancing: Occasionally. Walking on uneven surfaces.

Looking up: Frequently. While pulling orders or put away of product in upper levels of rack.

Specific Tasks:

  • Open and close rear door of truck: Occasionally.
  • Maneuver hand truck (push/pull/steer/tilt): Frequently. Unloaded and loaded (up to 5 cartons).
  • Operate Manual/powered walk-behind pallet jack including hand controls while moving product and/or skids in excess of 2,000 lbs : Frequently. Unloaded and loaded

Reading: Frequently. Read orders on RF equipment and product labels.

Scanning: Frequently. Scan product label to confirm proper item picked

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma.
  • Ability to operate power industrial and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to maintain simple logs and records.
  • Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs in order to load and deliver product.
  • Proficient in basic math skills to include units of measurements, multiplication, division and subtraction.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision..
  • CDL Class A license with a minimum of 1 years driving experience a plus
