Job Description
Oakland Community College (OCC) is seeking two (2) dedicated and student-focused Business Administration (BUS) Faculty members to deliver high-quality instruction in business and management disciplines. One position will be for our Auburn Hills and the other for our Royal Oak campus. One (1) of these Business Faculty positions have a focus on teaching Business Law. These positions are ideal for an experienced business professional who are passionate about preparing students for transfer opportunities and careers in business, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, and related fields. The successful candidate(s) will provide engaging instruction, develop industry-relevant curriculum, and support student success through academic advising, mentorship, and community partnerships.
Expected Start Date: Winter/January 2027
$62,440 - $70,857 Starting Base Salary ($62,440 - $112,678 full salary range for the 2025-26 Salary Schedule - *2026-27 Salary Schedule PENDING).
Potential for additional pay:
Overload – 60% over base

Work Environment
Instruction occurs in classroom, online, hybrid, and other learning environments. Faculty members collaborate closely with students, adjunct faculty, administrators, transfer partners, and business industry representatives. Active participation in departmental meetings, professional development activities, advisory board engagement, and community outreach is expected.
- Teach a range of Business Administration courses with a focus on Business Law, including principles of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, human resources, organizational behavior, international business, and business communications.
- Develop and update curriculum to reflect current business practices, emerging industry trends, and employer workforce needs.
- Integrate instructional technologies, business software applications, data analytics tools, and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Create learning experiences that develop critical thinking, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and ethical decision-making skills.
- Mentor students regarding academic planning, transfer pathways, career opportunities, internships, professionalism, and employability skills.
- Collaborate with business partners, advisory committees, transfer institutions, and college departments to maintain program relevance and workforce alignment.
- Participate in college committees, program assessment activities, accreditation efforts, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide program direction, instructional priorities, and day-to-day coordination for BUS support staff in collaboration with the appropriate supervisor and/or Academic Dean.
- Lead program coordination efforts related to curriculum, scheduling, budgeting, industry engagement, and community outreach.
- Maintain and support a quality group of adjunct faculty each semester.
- Monitor and enhance program performance metrics, including enrollment, retention, completion, transfer success, and employment outcomes.
- Support student success initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the Business Administration program.
•Experience with curriculum development, online teaching, and learning management systems.
•Higher education teaching experience preferred
•Demonstrated experience with AI in a business environment
•Industry certifications relevant to business disciplines.
•Experience using business analytics, project management, ERP, CRM, or other business technology platforms.
•Familiarity with workforce development initiatives, transfer partnerships, and employer engagement.
•Demonstrated success in building relationships with business and community organizations.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a master's degree in a business-related discipline from a regionally accredited institution; For Business Law Focus, a Juris Doctor degree is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional business experience.
- Prior teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary education setting
- Demonstrated expertise in contemporary business practices and principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
