Position Purpose
The Digital Content Creator develops and manages engaging digital content that brings the mission, programs, people, and impact of Our House, Inc. to life. This position creates compelling visual and written content that increases community awareness, strengthens recruitment efforts, supports fundraising initiatives, engages families and donors, and highlights the accomplishments of persons served and employees.
The Digital Content Creator is responsible for creating and maintaining content across social media, the OHI website, blogs, email communications, digital campaigns, and other communication channels while ensuring content is accurate, professional, mission-driven, and consistent with the organization's brand.
Essential FunctionsDigital Content & Storytelling
- Create, write, edit, and publish engaging digital content for social media, websites, blogs, email communications, and other marketing channels.
- Develop photo and video content that highlights OHI's programs, events, employees, and accomplishments of persons served.
- Maintain a content calendar and ensure content is timely, accurate, professional, and consistent with OHI's mission and brand.
- Manage and regularly update OHI's social media platforms, website, and blog content.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages as appropriate, and use analytics to improve content and audience engagement.
- Promote agency news, events, fundraisers, advocacy initiatives, employment opportunities, and community activities.
- Create content that supports employee recruitment, fundraising, donor engagement, community outreach, and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, the Foundation, leadership, and program staff to identify stories and content opportunities.
- Attend agency events and activities to capture content and promote OHI's programs, people, and impact.
- Assist with digital and print marketing materials, including newsletters, flyers, brochures, annual reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across OHI communications.
- Coordinate with vendors, photographers, website providers, and other external partners as needed.
- Ensure content follows OHI policies regarding confidentiality, consent, privacy, and professional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of persons served, employees, donors, vendors, and other agency information.
- Assist with fundraising activities, special projects, community events, and other organizational initiatives.
- Travel to OHI programs and events throughout New Jersey as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Communication: Communicates effectively and professionally with leadership, colleagues, persons served, families, donors, vendors, community partners, and individuals inside and outside OHI.
- Dependability: Reports to work as scheduled, meets deadlines, follows through on assignments, and can be relied upon to manage content projects from concept through completion.
- Collaboration: Builds positive working relationships and works effectively with departments throughout OHI to identify content opportunities and support organizational priorities.
- Organization: Effectively manages multiple content projects, platforms, priorities, events, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Digital Engagement: Uses social media, website, email, analytics, and emerging digital trends to continuously improve audience engagement and organizational visibility.
- Confidentiality: Consistently protects confidential information and follows all requirements related to privacy, consent, and professional standards.
Required Schedule
Full-Time: Approximately 30 hours per week.
This position is considered full-time based on the organization's established schedule, with some flexibility in hours. Our House, Inc. may consider a reduced schedule/Part-Time for a qualified candidate.
The majority of work will be performed on-site, with travel to agency programs, events, fundraisers, community activities, and other locations as needed.
The schedule will generally consist of daytime hours, with occasional evenings and weekends required based on agency events and communications needs.
Approximately 50% travel may be required.
Mileage reimbursement provided for approved business travel.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field
- Experience in digital marketing, social media, communications, or content creation; nonprofit experience preferred
- Strong writing, editing, photography, videography, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing content across social media, websites, email, and other digital platforms
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work in office in Murry Hill, NJ with travel to residential, day program, and community engagement activates/events; approximately 50% travel
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred

Experience with:
- Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and social media management tools
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- WordPress or similar website platforms
- Email marketing and analytics tools
- Video editing tools such as CapCut
- Microsoft Office and Google Analytics
- Ability to use computers, cameras, smartphones, and video equipment
