Job Description
Are you passionate about delivering transportation projects that make a lasting impact on a community? The City of Sandy Springs is seeking an experienced TSPLOST Project Manager to assist the Unit Manager in the management of a variety of TSPLOST transportation projects and activities.
In this role, you'll oversee projects from concept through completion, collaborating with engineers, consultants, contractors, utility providers, elected officials, and community stakeholders to successfully deliver transportation improvements funded through TSPLOST, SPLOST, ARPA, grants, and other funding sources.

What You'll DoAs a TSPLOST Project Manager, you will:
- Manage transportation capital improvement projects from planning and design through construction and project closeout while maintaining schedules and budgets.
- Develop project scopes, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), bid documents, and procurement materials.
- Manage engineering consultants, contractors, utility companies, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of delivery.
- Review engineering plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and change orders to ensure quality and compliance.
- Coordinate permitting, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocations, and regulatory approvals.
- Conduct field visits and construction inspections to monitor project progress and resolve issues.
- Prepare presentations, technical reports, budget updates, and project recommendations for City leadership, advisory boards, elected officials, and the public.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, responding to inquiries from residents, developers, consultants, and contractors.
- Monitor project budgets, invoices, funding requirements, and expenditures to ensure responsible stewardship of public funds.
- Support emergency operations and participate in rotational after-hours on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a City vehicle.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in civil or transportation engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of roadway, intersection, sidewalk, and multi-use path design and construction.
- Experience creating and/or reviewing transportation design plans.
- Experience managing projects through the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Plan Development Process (PDP).
- Demonstrated success managing multiple transportation projects with various funding sources while delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience working in local government.
- Familiarity with Unity Construct, e-Builder, or similar project management software.
- Experience working with transportation design consultants in Georgia.
