ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER
Kratos is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and develop our electrical engineering
team supporting the design and manufacture of UL891 switchboards, metal-clad medium-voltage
switchgear, controls packages, and related power distribution equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical electrical engineering execution, direct
team management, production support, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate has
experience in a manufacturing environment, understands engineered-to-order electrical equipment,
and can lead a team while maintaining high standards for accuracy, documentation, schedule
performance, and accountability.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of electrical and
controls engineers while also contributing technically to project execution. Key responsibilities
include:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical and controls-focused engineers
• Oversee engineering work related to UL891 switchboards, metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear,
controls packages, and related electrical equipment
• Ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, complete, and released on time to support
production schedules
• Review and support electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, BOMs, and
production documentation
• Ensure accurate and complete Bills of Material are created and maintained to support ERP
coordination and project execution
• Maintain and elevate engineering documentation standards, including drawing revisions, redlines,
as-builts, and project closeout documentation
• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to engineering, production,
purchasing,
quality, sales, and project management teams
Coordinate closely with production personnel to resolve manufacturing questions, drawing issues,
material concerns, and design conflicts
• Drive accountability through clear task delegation, prioritization, follow-up, and performance
expectations
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on hiring, performance management, training,
process improvement, and team development
• Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, design practices, workflows, and
documentation processes
• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, vendors, internal departments, and
cross-functional teams
• Balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical
field
preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered
• 5+ years of engineering experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, controls,
manufacturing, or a related technical environment
• 2+ years of direct leadership, supervisory, or technical team-lead experience preferred
• Experience working in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order production environment
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, and
engineering documentation practices
• Experience with CAD tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
platforms
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, mentor, and hold engineering team members
accountable
• Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production, purchasing, quality, sales, project
management, vendors, and customers
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with UL891 switchboards
• Experience with metal-clad medium-voltage switchgear
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical standards, including UL508A, UL891, NEC/NFPA
requirements, and related industry practices
• Experience with power distribution equipment, switchgear, switchboards, control panels,
protection, metering, relaying, and related componentry
• Experience developing and implementing controls solutions and controls packages
• Ladder logic or PLC programming experience
• ERP experience, particularly related to BOM creation, material planning, and
engineering-to-production workflows
• Experience improving engineering processes, documentation standards, and design release
procedures
• Prior experience managing engineers, designers, or technical production-support
personnel
