MBL Technologies is seeking a System of Record Notice (SORN) Specialist to manage and the operations and record keeping of the SORN development and publication activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Privacy Act requirements, understanding of information systems and data disclosure regulations, and experience supporting privacy documentation.

This role is hybrid and will require two days of onsite work in the Rockville, MD or Washington, DC location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of policies and procedures and provides guidance for the appropriate handling of personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with federal and agency privacy regulations.
  • Provide support for System of Records Notices (SORN) and other Privacy Act-related documentation.
  • Support the drafting and compilation of SORN packages (developing narrative, collecting signatures, Narrative Statement, transmittal Letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, and preparing the final package for OMB review and federal register publication (public comment period).
  • Manages tracking and reporting for SORN operations, deadlines, and upcoming activities.
  • Host education, outreach, and working groups for SORN operations and documentation.

Required Experience Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working with Systems of Records Notices (SORN) and Privacy Act implications on information systems.
  • Exhibit a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to build strong relationships, understand client needs, and deliver exceptional service and support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information, collaborate across teams, and engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to understand the “big picture” and to identify and resolve key issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in an environment of change.
  • Ability to support a hybrid work environment, including working onsite at least two days per week.
  • BS/BA degree (required).
  • Privacy industry certification (CIPP) (preferred).
  • Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
