Field Installer I

Job Summary:As a Field Installer at Bosch Building Technologies, you will support the installation of building automation systems in commercial environments, working alongside experienced team members to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient building automation and management solutions. This entry-level role focuses on developing technical skills through hands-on work with cabling, devices, and system components while adhering to Bosch standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, mechanically inclined and eager to grow within a leading provider of smart building technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Install conduit, cabling, and devices that make up the Building Automation System within a commercial environment.
  • Work closely with lead installers and other team members to ensure that installations meet safety standards and client specifications.
  • Pay attention to detail and adhere to timelines.
  • Deliver high-quality construction services that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Understand construction practices and follow safety protocols diligently.
  • Use tools and equipment effectively, requiring both technical skills and a commitment to safety. Attention to detail is critical, as installers must ensure that all materials are installed correctly and meet quality standards.
  • Interpret Bosch Building Technologies and others drawings to productively install controls and/or special building system installations.
  • Support installation personnel on project sites.
  • Assist as required troubleshooting efforts during either the static or dynamic start up or commissioning of building controls and special systems.
  • Assist in preparing As-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Provide up-to-date As-built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database, code, etc.
  • Provide documentation including daily logs, etc. as required for assigned projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 0-1+ years experience with Building Automation Systems or any years of commercial electrical installations experience.
  • 1+ years' experience working on construction sites or high mechanical environments using your hands to build or install manual or electronic devices.
  • 1+ years' experience working as an electrician or electrician's helper to further understand electrical symbols and readings.
  • An understanding of HVAC/Building Automation Systems operation.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience with Building Automation Systems or 2+ years of Commercial Electrical installations experience.
  • 2+ years' experience working as an electrician or electrician's helper to further understand electrical symbols and readings.
  • 1+ year of experience working in building automation systems using systems or mechanical devices such as high and low voltage AC circuitry, an oscilloscope, and/or Bluebeam.
  • A clear ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscope etc.
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical, control, and special system diagrams.
  • An understanding of the construction industry including safety, electrical codes, etc.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

Working Conditions:

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.

  • Working Hours:This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
