Accountabilities:

The Pessoa Desenvolvedora Ruby on Rails - Sênior will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions while taking ownership of technical decisions and product outcomes. The role requires strong backend expertise, engineering best practices, and collaboration with product and technology teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining scalable and resilient RESTful APIs using Ruby on Rails.
  • Participating in the full software development lifecycle, including architecture decisions, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
  • Contributing to the evolution of core systems, including monolithic architecture improvements, microservices initiatives, and integrations with external partners.
  • Designing and implementing technical solutions focused on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Ensuring code quality through reviews, Clean Code principles, SOLID practices, and engineering standards.
  • Monitoring and optimizing application performance through APM tools, resource tuning, and database query improvements.
  • Working within agile multidisciplinary squads using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Collaborating closely with product teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Maintaining a broad technical perspective by interacting with other technology areas, including TypeScript and mobile development contexts when needed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong Ruby on Rails experience and a mindset focused on ownership, technical excellence, and delivering business value. This role requires backend expertise, cloud knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment. Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Proven senior-level experience with Ruby on Rails development.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, including design, documentation, and integration.
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL and relational database modeling.
  • Experience working with Git and GitHub workflows.
  • Strong familiarity with automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches such as RSpec.
  • Experience with cloud environments, especially AWS.
  • Strong ownership mindset, with autonomy, proactivity, and responsibility for technical decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and messaging systems such as AWS SNS/SQS.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, caching, and queue technologies such as Redis, DocumentDB, or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions or Argo CD.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and/or Flutter.
  • Spanish proficiency is considered a plus.
