About the Role:
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to individuals across diverse populations within the healthcare and social assistance sector. This position is responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions aimed at improving clients' mental health and overall well-being. The QMHP collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and effective care delivery. Additionally, the role involves monitoring client progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary, and maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Certification or licensure as a Qualified Mental Health Professional as required by the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of experience providing direct mental health services in clinical or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with all regulatory requirements for healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with complex mental health needs.
- Training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management tools.
- Bilingual proficiency or experience working in multicultural environments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate clients' psychological, emotional, and social needs.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances and goals.
- Provide direct therapeutic services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation, to individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social service agencies, and community resources to coordinate holistic care and support.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development activities to enhance service delivery.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to necessary resources within the healthcare and social service systems.
